Purpose

Assist the Project Accountants with a divisional assignment as it relates to reviewing, entering and maintaining all contract related documents for clients/projects. Responsible for accurate and timely entry of data.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction
  • Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure a productive working environment.
  • Assist and work with the Project Accountant/Administrative staff to ensure accurate project setup into vision.

Do the Work
  • Enter new client data including but not limited to billing addresses, invoice recipients, phones, faxes, e-mail addresses and various Bowman custom fields.
  • Enter new contracts and change orders including but not limited to profit centers, project leads, project managers, tasks, lots, compensation and various Bowman custom fields.
  • Define project billing terms for hourly, unit, lump sum and reimbursable tasks.
  • Create specialized billing labor rate tables as required for specialized agreements.
  • Maintain projects to coincide with frequent changes in profit centers, leads, team leaders and project managers.
  • Handle project and task status changes.
  • Evaluate and update old data for Bowman custom fields as directed. .
  • Managing, sorting and filing all contract related documents to a centralized filing system.
  • Document data entry how to manuals for expansion/training.

Education, Work Experience, Licensure/Certifications, and Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or commensurate relevant experience preferred.
  • Entry level position. Previous experience in the engineering/construction or services industry preferred. Any experience in accounting/finance a plus.
  • Proficient in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
