Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist. In this role, you will initiate and pursue the collection of past due invoices via collection calls and e-mails. You'll prepare and review Accounts Receivable aging reports and manage accounts with overdue balances for assigned offices. You'll explain the status of past due AR as part of weekly meetings with Vice Presidents, Principals, CFO, and the Collections Manager. You'll conduct credit reviews to determine the credit-worthiness of potential clients by analyzing financial data through D&B and other sources and provide a summary of this research to Management. Other duties include researching credits and incorrect cash applications, documenting internal and external conversations, setting up new clients in the designated system, and assisting others in the accounting group with assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Business or relevant experience.
  • Experience in credit and collections.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, detail oriented, flexible, strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, take directions and be able to work both independently and as a team member.
  • MS Office Suite, Professional services industry and Deltek experience a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
