Job Description
DEA'sPortland, OR officeis hiring aCivil Engineer-in-Training (EIT)to support our Land Development Business Unit. A successful candidate will work on multi-discipline projects performing independent engineering calculations and design using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications.Our group works in the areas of commercial, industrial and residential land development, multi-use and infill development, parks, trails, and open space development, and urban planning and design for municipal, public works and private development clients.This is a great opportunity to become part of and contribute to the growth of a multi-disciplinary team that innovates around the Client's needs and expectations. Other duties include:
  • Coordinate projects with supervisors
  • Provide sketches and/or detailed layout information to design staff for incorporation into the construction drawings
  • Design, prepare and analyze preliminary and final plans in AutoCAD or Civil 3D software
  • Analyze maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
  • Prepare and/or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications and designs for project
  • Provide project- specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in CivilEngineering
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) exam
  • 0-4 years of civil engineering design or field inspection experience
  • Good AutoCAD skills with experience with Civil 3D preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
