DEA's Surveying and Geomatics team is looking for a Regional Survey Manager to lead our growth in the Southern California Market. The Regional Survey Manager is the primary champion of market growth, monitors regional net fees, and is responsible for business development spending in the market. This position also has a role leading client engagement for new and existing clients. This position can be located in Santa Clarita, Ontario, Tustin, or downtown Los Angeles with some work from home opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and driving market strategy with other senior surveyors in their market.
  • Determines the strategic allocation of resources, is responsible for visibility/brand within the market, new market/client growth, and assesses market technology trends.
  • Performs regional sales forecasting and coordinates long-term net fee forecasts with other senior staff.
  • Serve as the principal-in-charge/project manager when appropriate.
  • Support survey staff, including meeting with clients when a more senior presence is needed.
  • Support and coach surveyors, and is responsible for the performance management of direct reports.
  • Engage in recruiting and retention efforts to ensure DEA hires the best possible talent and supports processes that encourage staff longevity.
  • Work with and support other DEA Business Units and their projects
  • Responsible for regional sales results and managing business development costs in their market.


Basic Qualification:
  • Successful track record of winning projects in the Southern California market
  • Project experience with CALTRANS and local cities and counties.
  • Familiar with Southern California Client standards & deliverables


Desired (but not required) Qualification:
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in California or ability to obtain.
  • Proven experience with growth and development of business
  • Working knowledge of the latest surveying technologies
  • Existing client relationships and working knowledge of the markets.
  • Working knowledge of California Union labor requirements
