Your Impact at SAM

A Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple project managers, overseeing large, complex projects, working with Market Leads and senior leadership to increase market share and acting as the subject matter expert for their industry.
  • Establish work plan and staffing requirements for multiple large-scale projects;
  • Oversees writing of scope, budget, and QAQC;
  • Identify and participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency;
  • Review performance data (financial, budgets, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels;
  • Monitor and develop professional staff to maximize their potential;
  • Develop RFQs and fee proposals;
  • Work with Market Leads and Market Managers to establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area;
  • Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders;
  • Effectively interface with sub-consultants and as well as other business relationships;
  • Provide support to other operational units as needed;
  • Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed;
  • Supports the Company to achieve its vision and mission, while successfully practicing its core values related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity and corporate social responsibility;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company's strategic goals;
  • This position has direct supervisory responsibilities of employees to include mentoring, coaching, and counseling staff as needed


What You Bring to SAM

  • 25+ years of SUE experience in a professional or management capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
  • Strong TxDOT and Municipal SUE experience required
  • Strong business acumen and business development skills required
  • Good industry contacts and/or project portfolio documenting a successful book of business
  • Able to successfully apply accepted ASCE standard Civil Engineering methods, practices, and procedures to provide SUE services .
  • Knowledgeable in Bentley Microstation (OpenRoads and Power GEOPAK), and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
  • Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
  • Self-motivated
  • Professional License in the State of Texas
  • Professional Licenses in other States are a plus
  • Utility Engineering TxDOT Precertification 18.2.1 (Subsurface Utility Engineering)
  • Additional Utility Engineering TxDOT Precertification (Group 18) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire are a plus
