is hiring a
Transportation Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
to support our Roads and Highways team. As an EIT, the responsibilities will be diverse and will include but not be limited to the following:
Working with project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
Preparing and designing improvement plans for a wide range of multi-modal transportation projects
Preparing and/or modifying construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects
Analyzing maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
Assisting with post design construction support services to respond to contractor RFI's, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations
Performing construction inspection on project-specific basis
Coordinating work with other disciplines and offices on multi-discipline projects
Assisting with utility coordination including conflict analysis and coordination with public and private utility companies.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Engineer-in-Training Certification
0-2 years of professional engineering experience
Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Familiar with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Preferred Qualifications:
Drafting and design experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/InRoads, or OpenRoads Designer
Construction experience
1+ years of experience designing transportation projects
