Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), a growing multi-disciplined consulting firm, is expanding its building-related services to better serve the firm's multi-sector markets. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the growth of a national consulting firm that is providing client focused services in the real estate, manufacturing, natural gas, solid waste, mining, power and public sector markets. CEC has an immediate opening for an architect or architectural engineer experienced in building condition assessment, evaluation of building mechanical and structural systems and life cycle cost estimating. Diverse experience in architectural design, preparation of construction documents and construction oversight for a variety of industrial and commercial building types is desired. This position also requires a working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access regulations and remedial work for establishing accessible routes. Collaboratively work with the design team and staff to coordinate and manage projects throughout all project phases, pre-design through construction administration and close-out. Produce and comprehend architectural redlines and efficiently produce documents and revisions. Oversee quality control and ensure compliance with project scope and budget.Coordinate design consultants and oversee architectural team. Review deliverables prepared by project team before proceeding to next phase.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
  • 8-10+ years' experience
  • Architectural license is a plus, but not required.
  • LEED certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Property Condition Assessments for a variety of building types; ranging from 1-story retail and high-rise towers to warehouse/distribution and industrial parks
  • Refinance, equity, and capital planning type PCA report preparation
  • Immediate repair cost tables, capital reserves cost schedules, and narrative report writing
  • Identification and design of remedial measures to address building system deficiencies
  • ADA accessibility reviews and remedial measures
  • Architectural support in design/bid/build and design/build project delivery systems
  • Preparation of construction documents
  • Experience with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) permitting and approvals.
  • Construction support services
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office
  • Willing to work cross offices and in other states
