Job Description
DEA's Portland, OR office is currently seeking a Chief of Parties to oversee the field survey crews and provide office support. This position will be managing a group of survey crews performing a wide variety of surveys for public and private clients. The Chief of Parties will work closely with senior survey staff to coordinate project schedules and deliver projects on time.

Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Planning, assigning, directing and reviewing the daily activities of survey crews.
  • Ensuring proper and safe operation of all equipment
  • Oversee methods, procedures and policies for safe field survey operations.
  • Maintain Quality Control of the field data collected.
  • Mentoring and coaching of field staff to advance within the survey profession as their individual abilities allow.
  • Researching previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
  • Developing new data from records and field collected data.
  • Performing data reduction, computations and drafting as needed
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Clients, both internal and external.
  • Performing survey related tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in boundary and construction surveying
  • 3-5 years managing multiple field crews
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • L.S.I certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of Trimble Survey Equipment and Trimble Business Center preferred
  • Scanning and/or sUAS experience is preferred
