Overview

As an Ecological Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., you'll be part of a team that excels at solving problems and navigating today's complex environmental regulatory landscape. You will help our clients in the renewable energy, electric transmission, mining, and commercial real estate markets achieve and maintain environmental compliance. You'll supervise staff ecologists and lead interdisciplinary projects for the overall growth of the Ecological Services practice. Working alongside engineers, surveyors, and environmental scientists, you will impact the whole project, from proposal to final deliverable, by working directly with clients, contractors, and agency regulators.

CEC's Ecological Practice distinguishes itself from the service offerings of other firms because of the breadth of our technical expertise that includes: wetland and stream assessments, delineations, and mitigation; endangered species surveys, ecological risk assessments, and ecosystem restoration. CEC has successfully designed over 250 miles of stream and over 2,500 acres of wetland restoration projects. We currently have ecosystem restoration projects going in OH, PA, TN, WV, NC, SC, and CO with large opportunities FL, WI, MI, LA, and TX. The corporate practice group works cooperatively across all CEC offices to bring the necessary ecological expertise to our clients' specific project needs. CEC's corporate Ecological Services Practice accounts for more than 15% of our annual revenues, making it an essential part of the integrated services that we offer to our clients.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Ecology, Biology, or related technical field;
  • Local and/or national contacts and the ability to develop and market to new and existing clients;
  • Demonstrated client development and management experience to assist in expanding the delivery of our services to the energy, solid waste, mining, and real estate markets;
  • Demonstrated understanding of State and Federal regulations from agencies such as USEPA, US Army Corps of Engineers, and US Fish & Wildlife Service;
  • Ability to prepare well-written technical reports;
  • Ability to provide technical expertise and mentoring to staff in the ecological practice;
  • Ability to manage multiple activities, technical professionals and targeted client base;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Natural Stream Channel Restoration, Threatened and Endangered Species Consultation, or Environmental Permitting and Reporting.
