As an Ecologist for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be a part of project teams navigating today's complex environmental regulatory landscape. You'll learn and grow through CEC's unparalleled commitment to professional development, training, and staff mentoring. You'll be engaged in a wide variety of projects and involved in the entire project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction. You will assist wetland and stream delineation and ecological monitoring field activities; compile and analyze data; prepare reports; assist with preparing permit applications; and interact with clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. in a natural sciences field (e.g., Biology, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Geography);
  • Plant identification skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exposure to / experienced in Wetland delineation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-4 years' experience in performing and leading wetland and stream delineations and evaluations;
  • 1-4 years' experience in performing and leading threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations;
  • CAD or GIS experience;
  • Regulatory experience (e.g., EPA, US Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, USFWS, SHPO, DNR/DEQ, etc.);
  • 40-Hour Wetland delineation training or equivalent.
