Overview

Here's What You'll Do:

As an Engineering Assistant for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering projects and services in our team-oriented environment. Under the direction and supervision of experienced engineers and project managers, you will gain exposure to public and private land development, solar, oil & gas, waste management, transportation, water resources, and other engineering projects. You will participate in the following aspects of the engineering design process:

  • Create alignments, profiles, and site grading designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  • Prepare earthwork volume calculations;
  • Assist in the preparation of drawing sets throughout the project life-cycle - from conceptual planning to final design and construction; and
  • Work in conjunction with engineers and project managers to:
    • Develop site layout plans in accordance with local ordinance requirements
    • Develop post construction stormwater management, stormwater conveyance, and erosion and sedimentation control designs and prepare the supporting calculations
    • Design sanitary sewers and prepare Sewage Facility Planning Modules;
    • Conduct utility coordination and design onsite utility connections; and
    • Assist in the preparation of earth disturbance, municipal, and other permitting/approval applications


Qualifications

  • Here's What You'll Need:
    • Associate's or technical degree in CAD, Construction, or Engineering or a Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution;
    • Experience: 5 years with B.S. degree, 5-10 years with Associate's or technical degree;
    • Strong knowledge and experience using AutoCAD is required. Proficiency with Civil 3D is strongly preferred. Experience with HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, and other computer modeling software is a plus;
    • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication skills;
    • Ability to work as a team player, take direction, and interact well with others, and;
    • Ability to evaluate design alternatives to solve constructability, code, and site challenges.
