DEA is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hydrology Site Design Civil Engineer to join our team in Tustin, CA. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in the planning, design, and implementation of land development projects with a specific focus on hydrology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, and a strong background in civil engineering principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Hydrological Analysis:
    • Conduct hydrological analyses to assess stormwater runoff, watershed characteristics, and water flow patterns.
    • Utilize modeling tools and software to predict and simulate hydrological processes.
  • Stormwater Management:
    • Design and implement stormwater management systems, including detention basins, retention ponds, and other best management practices.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to stormwater runoff.
  • Drainage Design:
    • Develop drainage design plans, including the design of channels, culverts, and other drainage structures.
    • Collaborate with the project team to integrate drainage solutions into overall site design.
  • Site Planning and Grading:
    • Integrate hydrological considerations into site planning and grading design.
    • Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, and other engineering disciplines to achieve comprehensive project goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay informed about relevant regulations and codes related to hydrology and stormwater management.
    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permitting processes.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Utilize hydrology and hydraulic modeling software, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Civil 3D, to create detailed plans and conduct analyses.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and objectives related to hydrology.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients throughout the project lifecycle.

    Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on hydrology or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hydrology and site design for civil engineering projects.
    • Riverside County and Eastern Municipal Water District Experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in hydrological modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS), Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.
    • Strong understanding of stormwater management principles.
  • Communication:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional Certification:
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
