Purpose

Assist project teams with the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings and information to aid in the goal of completing projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction
  • Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level
  • Assist with enhancing relationships with existing and/or potential clients.

Do the Work
  • Coordinate project activities, including contact with contractors, field observation, or related work to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Coordinate multiple projects.
  • Create and update project plans.
  • Create and monitor project budgets and billing.
  • Develop and manage project data.
  • Document decisions and direction provided by PE/Project Manager.
  • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Monitor and communicate project progress and scope.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Proactively communicate internally and externally, acting as client point of contact.
  • Adapt to changes in process and scope and proactively assist in problem solving.
  • Organize, coordinate and research information, code analysis and troubleshoot project assignments.
  • Assist Project Manager in the preparation of production schedules and project budgets.
  • Aid with code review and resolution of problem areas.
  • Aid with submittals to local/state/federal municipalities and/or agencies.
  • Communicate verbally and formally with customer representatives, contractors, and engineers.
  • Understand and manage the due diligence process on projects, including initial master planning, work in close coordination with internal design/production teams.
  • Coordinate multiple projects; create and/or update project plans (monitor the entitlement processes, proactively communicate with project stakeholders).
  • Under the direction of senior leadership, assist in planning, design calculations and creation of engineering documents (e.g., reports and calculations for stormwater and utility capacity, civil permit processing).
  • Serve as liaison with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. municipalities, governmental agencies) for project due diligence but also during construction activities for the projects (i.e. utility coordination, construction observation, field reports to ensure construction per design in preparation for project certification).
  • Prepare project investigation reports and due diligence, including the evaluation of the project's technical and financial feasibility, project schedules.
  • Assist senior leadership with business development opportunities.

Education, Work Experience, Licensure/Certifications, and Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or commensurate relevant experience.
  • Entry level position, no prior experience related. Any related experience (ideally in professional services) a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize conclusions and confidently present well-supported arguments with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Adept at planning and organizing.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D/CADD desired but not required.
  • Adept at working on spreadsheets or other project management tools to organize information.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $20 - $35 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
