Are you interested in a care path for leadership? If so, this position is for you. DEA's Spokane, WA office are searching for a Project Surveyor who can grow into being a Project Manager and Survey Manager for our local staff. The focus at the beginning will be working on control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveying services for public and private clients. This position will grow into writing proposals, developing and managing project budgets and schedules, marketing clients, managing survey field crews and office staff. DEA is dedicated to a revenue generating survey business line, utilizing cutting edge technology that allows us to be a leader in terrestrial, GPS, 3D laser scanning, sUAS operations, and hydrographic surveying.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing/directing calculations, the creation of survey products (ALTA, boundary, topographic, right-of-way plans, legal descriptions, etc.) and quality control oversight
  • Performing boundary analysis
  • Coordinating with other DEA disciplines and clients to help grow market share and complete projects
  • Directing the field and office crew members in the performance of their duties and mentoring and coaching them to advance within the survey profession as their individual abilities allow
  • Work may also include preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD and/or Microstation


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Strong computer skills with CAD and Land Surveying software, such as: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation (OpenRoads Designer, InRoads Survey), Trimble Business Center, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Washington and/or Idaho PLS
  • Trimble Business Center experience
  • Project experience with both public and private clients

  • Potential salary range for this position is $90,000-$125,000 depending on experience
