Your Impact at SAM

As a Survey Technician, you will support the office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final project deliverables.
  • Processing field survey data into topographic surveys utilizing SAM Standards
  • Generating 3D surfaces, updating 2D plans
  • 3D modeling of as-built conditions of Arch, Struc and MEP systems from laser scan data
  • Registering laser scan data in Leica Cyclone
  • Occasional BIM 3D modeling and coordination of MEP systems from construction documents

What You Bring to SAM

Preferred Training, Experience, Education/Skills
    • 1 year of relevant experience required
    • Strong computer and technical skills and experience in some or all of the following software:
      • AutoCAD Civil3D and Bentley Microstation
    • Experience with some or all of the following:
      • Topographic surveys, boundary surveys
      • Building 3D surfaces from survey data
      • PointCloud Data - familiarity with using PointCloud Data
      • Reading and understanding site and construction plans
    • The ideal candidate has:
      • A consistent and strong desire to learn new techniques and software
      • Flexibility and willingness to work on a large variety of projects and challenges
