Survey Technician - Utility Locator - Pittsburgh, PA

Bowman is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to serve as Survey Technician-Utility Locators in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Survey Technician-Utility Locators will work outdoors to collect utility data while using Trimble GNSS/GPS data collectors and underground utility locating equipment. Travel is required. Opportunities covering multiple areas including Columbus, Gahanna, Newark, Cambridge, Zanesville, Elyria, Cleveland, and Steubenville are available.

Highly motivated and professional individuals will be considered for rapid advancement.

Preferred Skills:
  • Prior land survey or utility locating experience preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic multi-frequency locating tools is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read utility maps, plans, and as-built drawings
  • Maintain field equipment
  • Ability to provide sketches of work performed
  • Ability to work alone or in a team

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and various weather conditions
  • Ability walk, stand, kneel and regularly lift/move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 30 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Current, valid State driver's license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass drug screen and background check
  • May be requested to work overtime and/or weekends, as needed
