What You Will Do

GeoDecisions is currently seeking applicants interested in joining the team as a Technical Architect with Database / Data Analytics Skills to work in Tallahassee, FL.   This position will serve as a key member of a team that we are establishing to service our clients within the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), with possible expansion into Florida’s commercial marketplace.

  • Mentors development staff when implementing produced architectural designs and proposals.
  • Loves working directly with clients and solving issues collectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams whenever asked toward common goal
  • Lead designing solutions for client and development staff
  • Assist with, and draft, architectural designs for proposed projects
  • Provide mentorship to technical staff
  • Become a subject matter expert in at least one area related to primary functional role
  • Always provide informative, concise documentation including any references, examples and justifications for the high-level decisions made during architectural design production
  • Advise any Tech Leads on same, or other, projects when approached while supporting the technical limitations, demands and needs of their given project
  • Stay abreast of technologies, practices, procedures & standards related to primary functional role while helping to establish enterprise best practices
  • Oversee deployment and testing of solutions
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, GIS, or related field required.
7+ years’ experience designing, developing and maintaining GIS web applications.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Ability to manage tasks and timelines effectively
Demonstrable ability to work as part of an integrated solution development team


Technical Skills:

Strong ability to turn high level requirements into realistic code tasks
Advanced knowledge of technologies, practices, procedures & standards related to primary functional role
Demonstrated knowledge of technologies, practices, procedures & standards related to at least one non-primary functional role
Demonstrated ability to successfully function within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
Demonstrated ability to produce enterprise-scoped solution
Experience with one or more database platforms:
Microsoft SQL Server
Oracle
PostgreSQL
Experience with one or more database scripting languages:
TSQL
PSQL
pgSQL
Ability to produce efficient, well formed:
Stored procedures (and/or packages, based upon language)
User defined functions (MS SQL, Oracle, or other applicable language/platforms)
