Overview

Come join Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Bridgeport as a Principal in the Transportation Group. We have a great, high energy, multidisciplined office that is conveniently located just off of interstate 79 and within walking distance of multiple restaurants. In addition, we offer a flexible hybrid work schedule of 2 days a week work from home or 1 day off every other week. As a Principal in the Transportation Group, you'll manage a team of engineers to create highway and roadway design packages based on highway standards and intimate knowledge of DOT/DOH nuances. In this role, you'll be responsible for tasks from business and client development, proposal writing and project cost estimating, oversight and management of projects, to mentoring and coaching junior engineers. In addition, you'll be interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials; impacting the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction - all the way to the roadway being opened to the public. We are looking for a dynamic engineer that brings an established network with DOT/DOH in West Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania and has the ability to get engaged locally and create a network to aide in expanding CEC Bridgeport's business, as well as assist in expanding our Martinsburg office. Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering; a master's degree a plus;
  • 15+ years' professional engineering experience;
  • West Virginia Professional Engineer license required, or able to obtain with 3 months of employment;
  • Ability to speak and write professionally;
  • Experience and knowledge in WV, MD, and/or PA related to highway and/or bridge design;
  • Strong relationships with transportation clients.
