Our Bellevue, Tacoma and Olympia, WA offices are seeking qualified candidates to fill Transportation Intern positions to support our Roads and Highways group while working on transportation related projects. The successful candidates will work on multidiscipline projects performing independent engineering calculations and design, using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings. The work may include highway and roadway design, signing and pavement marking plans, utility plans, traffic control plans, storm water, technical writing, quantity calculations, construction documents, and all supporting documentation. The successful candidates will be exposed to various project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects located in Washington state.

Other duties/learning opportunities include:

• Coordinate projects with supervisor, project managers, and firm staff

• Support design and preparation of plans in AutoCAD and Microstation/InRoads software

• Analyze maps, reports, drawings and as-builts for design projects

• Support preparation of reports and specifications for projects

• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates related to development of contract plans package
  • Support design team by making site visits in the field to verify site conditions


Basic Qualifications:

• Applicants must be in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, with at least 2+ years of completed course work and scheduled to graduate on or before Spring 2024

• Microsoft Office (Excel and word)

• Exposure to computer aided design; including AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Microstation/InRoads

• Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle report

• Ability to communicate and work in a team oriented environment

Potential salary range for this position is $18 - $25/hour depending on experience and location
