Overview

As a Transportation Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will participate in and contribute to the design, permitting, and implementation of transportation engineering projects and services in our team-oriented environment. Under the direction and supervision of experienced engineers and project managers, you will participate in the following aspects of the engineering design process for various state, county, municipal, and private transportation clients:
  • Prepare drawing packages for highway occupancy permits, traffic signals, and roadway design projects using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software;
  • Perform occasional field work (e.g., sight distance measurements/evaluation of site access locations, installation of traffic recording equipment, and traffic counts). This position is approximately 80% in-office and 20% in the field;
  • Assist in the development of specifications and cost estimates;
  • Assist in the evaluation of roadway conditions for haul routes and bonding; and
  • Assist in the preparation of various transportation permit applications.


Qualifications

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Technical or Associate's Degree or higher in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or related field;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Open Road Designer software is a plus;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
  • Ability to work as a team player, take direction, and interact well with others;
  • Strong organizational skills; and
  • Positive attitude and work ethic, and willingness to learn!
