Bellevue, WA office
is currently hiring a
Water Resources Project Designer
to support major projects in our
Puget Sound region
. This position will support a variety of assignments related to habitat restoration, fish passage, floodplain analysis, and stormwater management. Typical Water Resource projects may include:
Stormwater facility design
Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
Culvert and bridge hydraulics
Stream, wetland, and habitat restoration design
Feasibility studies and master plans
Engineering and construction plans, specifications, and estimates
It will be the responsibility of the position to perform engineering design and to provide a high-quality product to DEA's current and future clients.
Position Responsibilities:
Work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and contribute to the growth of our Water Resources group.
Responsible for planning and design of a wide range of water resources systems and facilities including hydraulic analysis for stream crossings and evaluating for fish passage and scour. Responsibilities also include evaluation and design for stormwater and surface water management systems. Design responsibilities are completed under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.
As a stormwater management designer, collaborate with a team of support professionals, including but not limited to drafters, other EIT's, GIS technicians, and technical editors. Responsibilities also include active management of task-specific scope, schedule and budget.
Utilize a developing knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management designs standards.
Prepare supporting design documentation, including reports and technical memorandums.
Develop solutions to design problems.
Create and managing electronic document file structure, naming convention in accordance with company standards.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Drafters to set-up and manage construction drawings and design documentation.
Basic Qualifications
BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or related field
Engineer-in-Training certification or has passed the FE exam within the next 6 months
Strong written and verbal communication skills
0-4 years of experience collecting data, completing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, writing reports, and preparing design drawings for water resource design, stream restoration, and fish passage projects
Experience in Microstation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet experience/proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
GIS experience related to design analysis
Experience with Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Civil3D, CivilStorm, SWMM, HSPF, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), SMS/SRH-2D, ArcGIS, and HY-8
Technical memorandum and report writing skills
Experience designing in or around streams and wetlands

Anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000 based on experience
